Social Inclusion

WFT Inclusion Festival March 09 075.jpgShow Racism the RED Card has an important role to play in Football Inclusion in Wales, we aim to encourage socially excluded communities to become actively involved in football at all levels along with educating play

ers, coaches and referees to recognise and deal with racism.

Our overall aim is to stop Racism in society by using football as a tool to ensure we have inclusive communities in Wales irrespective of race, gender, nationality, culture or religion, this will be achieved by increasing the number of roles models and at all levels of the game specifically with playing, coaching and refereeing and through education of how to deal with issues that are in society.

Our Wales Campaign works closely with the Football Association of WalesSport Wales and the Welsh Football Trust (WFT) towards Social Inclusion in Football throughout Wales.
Overview to our Inclusion Projects in Wales are below:

Football for All

SRtRC run projects that include football festivals and coaching sessions run at primary and secondary schools and local community centres to help support players of all ages towards breaking down barriers that exist for socially excluded individuals and communities in Wales and by linking up individuals to join local clubs.

Introduction to Football Coaching Workshop

CIMG0017.JPGThis workshop is a 2 hour introduction to the FAW Level 1 (Leaders Award) coaching Certificate for anyone who has difficulties accessing information or does not feel confident to access the Level 1 course direct.

The first hour is an indoor based session discussion of what to expect from the official Level 1 course, the benefits of qualifications and where these can lead in terms of employment and opportunities.

Information on where, how and when a Level 1 course can be accessed in Wales will be provided.

Candidates will then have the opportunity during the second hour to take part in practical football coaching sessions, which will demonstrate some examples of what will be covered and learnt on the official Level 1 course.

Dealing with Racism Workshops – Players, Coaches & Referees

Our dealing with racism workshops are designed specifically and uniquely for players, coaches or referees.

Each specific workshop educates the participants on the topic of racism and uses scenarios that we have come across at all levels of the game to provide examples of what issues might arise for them. Through interactive discussion based activities participants explore how to deal with a racist incident and how they can report any issues they come across.
